Chelsea Bushong, harp

Chelsea Nicole Thompson-Bushong was born in Edmond, Oklahoma. She began playing piano and harp at a young age.

 

She was educated by Leah Trent and Gaye Leblanc and has performed in many ensembles throughout her time as a musician including the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Tulsa Symphony, Fort Smith Symphony, and the performing groups of Oklahoma City University, The University of Central Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State University as well as many others.

 

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance from Oklahoma City University in 2010 and her Master’s degree in Harp Performance in 2015, educated by Faith O’Neal.

 

She has maintained a wonderful harp studio throughout the years and has taught many students that have gone to win awards at competitions such as The Carver Competition, put on the by OKC Orchestra League, the Midwest Harp Festival, and the Ladies Music Club of OKC Scholarship Competition. As well, her students have gone to further their education on harp at the Univerty of Central Oklahoma where Chelsea currently teaches, the University of North Texas, and the University of Oklahoma.
